What inspired me to create "Cichlid & Associates" was a number of factors. First of all, is the love of keeping fish as pets since my very first goldfish during Kindergarten. I still have a wide variety of books from that time about fish-keeping and many other aquatic animals, from sharks to my favorite pet, the orca whale. However, simply reading about these creatures wasn't enough, so I built a website.
At the age of twelve, I published a comprehensive website called "Tropical Freshwater Aquarium," full of hundreds of pages and lots of time. Through this website, I catalogued my own experiences with fish, plants, and the few snail and crab species I had. Unfortunately, two years later, the website was taken off the free provider service I was using because it created too much bandwidth: 20 to 30 hits per day. Of course it's fun bragging about those stats, but what's the use if there's really no proof? So I decided to create this website as a legacy and a continuation on what "Tropical Freshwater Aquarium" was.
I am currently a college student studying the fields of English and Psychology, but my love for aquariums lives on. May your adventures through this site be as great of an experience as it was to me to make it.
Cichlid & Associates' Main Goals: - The use of my first-hand experience to further guide fellow fish-keepers. - Despite the site's antagonist slogan; To maintain and help promotion of the online aquarist community.
This site was created with Microsoft FrontPage 2003 using fonts "Papyrus" and "Comic Sans MS." Also used in the creation was MS Paint, a digital camera, and most importantly, an active imagination with a glittering of patience.
