My Experience (summary of my own keeping)

Marbled hatchetfish are excellent schoolers and spend most of their time in the upper strata of the aquarium. They appear to be swimming "suspended" and prefer shade or plants to use as camouflage. The best home for marbled hatchetfish is a thicket of floating plants they can sit in, maybe trying to mimic leaves or other plant matter. Although they move listlessly, their behavior is usually in drastic contrast to other members of the aquarium community.

Basic Behavior (based upon observations, readings and conversations)

Extremely peaceful. Little movement.

   Food Preference (brands and types)

Tetra® TetraMin® Tropical Flakes
