Kribensis
Kribensis are popular African dwarf cichlids, fitting in very easily with their South American counterparts that flood this website. They are very peaceful, although sometimes they will act aggressively. At times they can go from placid foragers to digging pits in the gravel and chasing others away. Female Kribs are smaller than the males, being just over 2 inches in length while males can reach 4 inches. The different sexes can be distinguished early on by the length of the fins, males having elongated dorsal and anal fins while the females have rounded fins. Females also carry a more rounded, purple stomach region.
